OABA-PAC IS THE OABA' s Political Action Committee (PAC) , which raises money for contribution to candidates. The U S Federal Election Committee has laid out some specific guidelines for PAC activities. The OABA has a PAC in order for members to become directly involved in their own government. U S Senators and Congressmen in key positions will be more sympathetic to OABA issues when they realize its members are willing to contribute to their costly campaigns. Since Washington DC has touched every segment of the outdoor amusement industry through taxes, safety standards, game regulations and health guidelines, for example, it is important to combat detrimental regulations which can run a show off the road. Personal contributions to campaigns are accepted up to $5,000 per year, although the FEC limits cash from one person to $100. Therefore, collectively, OABA members can contribute $5,000 per candidate per election through the PAC. The board of directors has control over OABA-PAC contributions over $100.
