OABA’s New Virtual On-line Training – Education Benefit for Members
Your OABA is launching an exciting new virtual on-line training (VOLT) program that OABA Chair E.J. Dean has been spearheading in 2017, along with the Education Committee.
The OABA has partnered with a reputable and established e-learning company based in Salt Lake City, Utah called Learning Zen, which has experience with several clients in the amusement industry and is an exhibitor at IAAPA.
This self-paced e-learning initiative will provide many new and updated educational programs for our members with several education modules. These modules will contain basic to advanced curriculums, selected by a member company for their employees, in categories such as Ride Safety with sub-training modules covering topics such as Maintenance, Inspection and Operations in short 10-30 minute segments. Many of these training modules will be in both English and Spanish, depending on the education content.
Other education categories will include Worker Safety, Guest Services, Food and Game concessions, and sub-categories with more training modules.
Several years ago, we updated the original Red Wood Safety Series with a new Professional Safety and Guest Relations DVD, complete with retention testing for training documentation, in both English and Spanish. In addition, we are talking with NAARSO and others to provide education content with the hope that employees can get course credit for this industry certification program.
You will be hearing more about this new VOLT program in the coming months, via ShowTime magazine, ShowTime “Xtra” and our website.
Thanks to the following manufacturers and suppliers for their three-year commitments to help educate OABA members and helping supply educational content through education modules, such as ride inspections, food/game concessions, worker’s compensation, guest services, etc. This new self-paced, on-line virtual learning program is designed to improve safety and job skills for all in the mobile amusement industry. The following sponsors have made a three-year commitment to help the OABA and our industry.
